Pinballmap.com allows you to search for pins in your local area. You can and should leave ratings for the quality of play you encounter in the wild.
I’ve been to dozens of bars in SF looking for good pins, and for the most part, it’s very discouraging, as the level of maintenance is marginal compared to how well you can tune your machines at home, or how well they maintain them at the Alameda Pinball Museum, and Free Gold Watch. Unfortunately, “If it turns on and accepts quarters — it works!” might just be the motto of some of the routing companies servicing San Francisco. If you find a machine that doesn’t work properly, you can make a big difference! Find the vendor sticker on the machine, and ask the Bar Keep to call them. 9 out of 10 times they’ll call immediately and a tech will arrive in within one hour! You are helping them attract and keep customers, don’t be shy to make a difference and speak up when you find a limping fawn in the wild!
