Defender was designed by Barry Oursler and Joe Kaminkow, and released in 1982 by Williams. It has the entire sound set from Defender, and no voice. The rules were ported over exactly from the incredibly popular video game. The bonus starts FULL when you start the game, and if you take too long to achieve the objectives, the bonus disappears, as though your men are being lifted from the planet surface by the “Landers.” It’s a 3-flipper game with two pops middle top of playfield that are quite mean, a set of inline targets like in Eight Ball Deluxe, and two sets of smart drop banks.
