Defender

Defender was designed by Barry Oursler and Joe Kaminkow, and released in 1982 by Williams. It has the entire sound set from Defender, and no voice. The rules were ported over exactly from the incredibly popular video game. The bonus starts FULL when you start the game, and if you take too long to achieve the objectives, the bonus disappears, as though your men are being lifted from the planet surface by the “Landers.” It’s a 3-flipper game with two pops middle top of playfield that are quite mean, a set of inline targets like in Eight Ball Deluxe, and two sets of smart drop banks. The drop banks can raise individually to represent your humanoids on the planet surface. Only 369 made. The rough guess is 40 are alive and well in the world. This one will get the full restore treatment, as it is never leaving the collection.
